No More Rejection by Any Recording Companies

After the Zoo Army`s successful release of their album 507, the band was about to give another shot with a set of songs for their new album but when they presented it to recording companies, they were rejected. In the following interview dated 12.01.2009 , Gil revealed the sad truth : We were "ready to go" and then have a label wanted. Well, and that was the sad part: Some have said "no thanks, we do not want", but most have posted a "super cool, but sorry, not fit". A label has rejected us on crass way and I now know that these have not regretted the decision since. I do not understand, but it will probably be just like that.

Well, thanks to their rejection that he formed the band, Acht, which, until now, gives him true happiness and fulfillment. That sad experience gave way for him to do things on his own. With Ossi`s help as well as the other members, the band has produced its own album under its own label. They were their own boss--manager, producer, director, coordinator, songwriter and composer. They learned to not rely on others but do things in their own.

Now, after his appearance in The Voice of Germany, gathering thousands, if not millions, of fans, I`m sure those recording companies who have rejected his songs in the past are most likely feeling sorry for their loss. I won`t be surprise if one day they will come to him and will be the one to offer him a recording contract. Lucky for them if the band will go for it. But as of the moment, Acht is preparing for a big surprise for us, fans, in new year. And we look forward to that!

Much has happened in recent months at Gil Ofarim. ZOO ARMY take a break and with EIGHT Gil has a new band at the start. But read for yourself ..

Just in time for the beginning there is news from the ZOO ARMY / Gil Ofarim-bearing.Go ahead.

After more than three years, more or less successful time with ZOO ARMY , the band makes a break now, independed from the fact that our drummer Dominik got out. ZOO ARMY do now summer holidays, but eventually starts to school again. We solve definitely not! Music is my life and that is why I now have a new band at the start, which I founded with my longtime friend Oswin "Ossi" Ottl. There will also be a new experience for me, because I will sing in German. The band is called NIGHT and I'm happy, proud and happy to play music with so-hot musicians. We go into the studio in January and record an EP, in order then to again intervene with the record companies. We may also try to promote the band itself. We will see.

Again briefly to ZOO ARMY , before going back over EIGHT talk. The plate was strong, the good reviews, you also initially played a lot live. What has happened in the last year and a half almost nothing?

Back to EIGHT . In January's go into the studio. How far are you already have the songs?

The songs are in the studio by Oswin prefabricated and already fully mature. We sat down together and are now having with Corni Bartels, yes, the last of the band's best made, record a few songs in the studio space here in Munich. We have 11 songs ready. The band name is currently the last three weeks, the first photo shoot was done and the logo in progress. A MySpace page will not be too long.

With EIGHT you doing now virtually the same as 2005 with ZOO ARMY . New band at the start, songs are written, it goes back to label and search all over again?

No. Two things are equal. It is a band and it's rock music. The residue is different. Musically too different, although it is rock music. It's in German, there are other musicians with different background. I am now 13 years music and learn music still very much from the guys who are a little older, too. The guys are so positive and it feels really good. Oswin, the other guitarist, I've known since I was a child. I have shopped in his guitar shop and he always was already my guitar teacher. A few years ago I recorded the album "On My Own" and he was already involved. Since we are constantly in touch.
