My Latest Addiction

Ever since I`ve watched Gokusen Season 1, 2, 3 and the Movie, I`ve become interested in most of the main characters and have been watching their other movies. Well, here are the list of the recent movies I`ve watched and been addicted to:

Bloody Monday

Ever since I`ve fallen for Ren Kazama, I`ve been following Haruma Miura`s movies and this one was really a big WOW! Bloody Monday was a total HAMMER! The best "hacking" movie! Best science fiction movie. Sobrang ganda, nakakaintriga, nakakaadik, nakakahigit ng hininga, nakakabaliw sa excitement. Very great movie!
Crows Zero

Crows Zero 2

Sabi ko nga, adik ako kay Haruma kaya pati Crows Zero 2 na hindi naman siya ang bida ay pinanood ko. What struck me with this movie was the main cast, Shun Oguri himself. He`s one of my favorite Japanese actor and also one of Gokusen cast. So, the fact that another idol is in this movie, I watched it from beginning to end with all my heart (not just for Haruma). Then I realized, it was a very interesting and hard-rock movie. I mean, I love the actions. I felt like it was the first time I`ve ever appreciated an action movie. That`s why I also watched Crows Zero. This time, it was all because of Shun. If you love bloody actions and high school gangsters, then don`t miss this movie.

Shiritsu Bakaleya Koukun

Takaki Yuya (Ogata Yamato of Gokusen 3 and The Movie) was in this movie, but he was not the reason I`ve watched it. I was just searching for JDoramas and Japanese movies with the same genre as Gokusen and Crows Zero and happened to bumped on this one. Upon reading the synopsis, I got really interested. Troubled boys from an all-boys high school and elite-and-refined girls from an all-girls high school got mixed up into one class? What more can I say? Troubles. Romance. Kilig. Action. Excitement. Suuuppppeeerrr!

---
So, there! Alam n`yo bang ilang beses ko nang pinapanood ang mga movies na iyan? From Gokusen to Bakaleya...Superb! The best! Japanese drama and movies!

My Favorite Japanese Actors

 1. Haruma Miura
Before I even know his name, Koizora has already made a big impact on me and it was one of the most touching movies I`ve ever watched. However, I didn`t bother to know his name nor research about him...not until I saw Gokusen 3, my favorite part of all Gokusen series. He portrayed his character as Ren Kazama well--sometimes a dork, an idiot, a tough guy and a kind-hearted friend and brother. Not only did Haruma have a beautiful face and a refreshing smile but also an amazing acting skills. Koizora is one proof. Another drama of him that I`ve watched was Samurai High School. He really did a good job in shifting characters from time to time as if it came naturally from him. He`s funny but pitiful as well. Then the Samurai character was admirable. Everytime he smiled, laughed and cried, I did the same as well. He could really capture your heart by just his smile, even so with his dorky attitude.

 2. Akanishi Jin
The first movie I saw him in was Yukan Club as Miroku. That time, Jin really left a mark in my heart. I really loved his character--his being tough and willing to do everything to protect his friends. Then, there were some funny moments when his emotional side was revealed. Miroku was easy to cry whenever he heard a touching story. Jin was really funny doing that. When his role gets serious and he needs to cry, he can really cry and touched your heart. However, I still prefer his character in Yukan Club and Gokusen 2. I love him best as a comedian. Hehe.

 3. Kamenashi Kazuya
I saw him first in Yamato Nadeshiko and I really loved his character as Kyohei. His role was always a serious and tough guy even in Gokusen 2--opposite to Jin`s character. Although sometimes his character was a bit boring, his talent in acting can surely make it interesting. I love him most especially during a very serious scene like in Gokusen 2 where he was begging his father. That was really breath-taking and heart-touching, made me avoid to watch it again because I know it will make me cry hard again.

4. Hayami Mokomichi
Before Haruma made me cry in Koizora and captured my heart in Gokusen 3 as Ren,  Hayami had already given me sleepless nights and made me cry everytime I remembered Absolute Boyfriend. His character as Night, a robot programmed to be the ideal boyfriend of a girl and eventually fell in love with her for real, really made me wish I`d have the same boyfriend as well. Hayami`s acting as a human-like robot was really great. Facial expressions of a human but not losing the robot character, Hayami really did a great job. That movie still breaks my heart until now everytime I watch it again.

5. Jun Matsumoto
The first time I saw him in Gokusen, well, that was love at first sight. The cold-hearted Shin Sawada was just not my type, but in this drama, he was really cool. I don`t like him in Hanayori Dango. Maybe, it`s because of the hairstyle or it can be that I`m not really into Dao Ming Zhu and his counterparts in all versions of Meteor Garden. I don`t like the hot-headed player character. Oppositely, Shin was very cool and intelligent. He knows what to do and when to do it. He`s selfless and willing to sacrifice himself for his loved ones. Because Jun portrayed Shin that good, he deserved a spot in my heart. ^_^

6. Shun Oguri
I really didn`t know his real name when I saw him in Gokusen. I thought his face was really familiar. Then, after getting hooked with this drama, I finally researched about every character I was interested in. Uchiyama has not really given me that big impact as Shin did but I got really curious who he was. Shun Oguri. Even the name was really familiar to me. When I researched about Shun...Bang! He was Rui of Hana Yori Dango. Damn! I knocked my head real hard. Rui was my favorite in Hana Yori Dango and come to think of it, I also knew he was Shun. But why didn`t I recognize him in Gokusen? Arrrggghhh...So, that`s the story of my stupidity. Anyways, Shun really got the acting skills and I love him as Rui. He`s also cute as Ucchi.

7. Takeshi Kaneshiro
I don`t really remember his real name until now. I only remembered him as Keigo in Precious Time. That`s when I first saw him and it was also his only drama series that I`ve watched. Why did I love Keigo? Well, he got my ideal hairstyle of a man and the cold-hearted aura that attracts women. Aside from that, I love his eyes the most. I saw Precious Time in ABS-CBN when it was aired as Primetime Drama. Just the trailer itself made me interested in it, and since the very first night it was aired up to the very last, I`ve never missed it. And there was not a night that I didn`t cry while watching and even when I was thinking about it although the Tagalog Song, Kung Iniibig Ka Niya, also helped in making it more tragic. That was a very amazing movie and performance by Takeshi. I`ve never forgotten him ever since then.

8. Tak Sakaguchi
The most annoying bastard character but could make you go crazy over with in Versus. In the movie, his character was far from being an ideal man--over-confident, ungentle-man  and doesn`t trust anyone. However, he`s got this something that girls looked for in a man. He surely knows how to fight and later, he wanted to protect the girl, his leading lady. He`s also very cute when he tried to help her stand. Ever since the first time I saw this movie, it has become one of my favorites. Tak has a very admirable talent in acting as well as in fighting. I`ve researched about him and he really was a martial artist.

Acht Rocked Again!

Photo taken by: Heike Kloss

The long wait was finally over! The BIG event was more than successful as my ultimate crush and singer idol, Gil Ofarim, together with his band, Acht, rocked the stage at Strom Munich last Saturday, February 23, 2013.

Photos here and there from fans... (I`ve shared them here.)

Videos uploaded in Youtube...

Reviews and articles on different blogs...

Watching and reading all these stuff made me feel so envious of those who were able to watch the concert live. I have watch all the videos uploaded in Youtube--from simple guesting to concert tour--and saw how great the band was as a performer. That`s why I always looked forward to watching them live. I even created a Facebook Fan Page called Gil Ofarim with Acht: Comeback Concert Tour in the Philippines 2013. Philippines is very far from Germany and only a few could afford to go there, so I was thinking of a way for me and my co-fans to see him once more.

Anyway, as I have predicted, the concert was really fun and great and, as the Germans describe it, "Hammer!" And I couldn`t agree more. By only watching the videos, it was really an overwhelming experience, how much more for those who were really there?

Just last month, concluded The Voice of Germany concert tour, where Gil was one of the performers in all big stadiums all over Germany. This time, the venue was much smaller, and yet it never really mattered. It didn`t affect the least bit in the concert experience. In fact, it allowed the audience to interact more with the band. And how was the performers? Can`t you tell based on the photos and the videos? They were all very happy--alive and kicking. They were really enjoying themselves as if they`ve never done that for a long time. Four gentlemen performing like a child. That was really cool!

So what`s my point in all these? All I want to say is, I`m really dying to see Gil with Acht performing live. That is one of my biggest dream since his appearance in The Voice of Germany. As one concert finishes, the pain of my desire to see him--them all--was growing more and more.

To Acht, congratulations to your success. We wish you more concerts and appearances to come! We are also hoping to see you here in the Philippines. Hope you could grant our wish.

Gil`s Latest Interview

Gil Ofarim
Gil Ofarim (Photo: Iris Mauch)
I`m so glad Gil has shared the link to his latest interview in his fan page. He saved me a lot of effort. Anyway, this is another heart-touching interview for me. I don`t know why I always feel so sad whenever I read any of his interviews. Maybe it`s because of the many misconceptions and misunderstandings by the people towards him.

In this exclusive interview, he stressed, "Guys, I was never gone, I was always there - I mostly just stood in front of a closed door. " We know that since his appearance in The Voice of Germany, many articles have been written about him, and the general idea of all is his "COMEBACK". Comeback? Gil, was never gone. For those who stil didn`t know, he still continued his journey as a singer after his teenage years--being the short-haired Gil Ofarim. After that, he formed his rock band Zoo Army. Next to it, and up to the present, he is with Acht. So, when was the empty year? None. It`s just that, many people have not been following him since he left Bravo. And it`s not his job to tell you everything that`s happening to him to keep you updated. Well, I guess he just wanted a little privacy that time or just wanted to see who really cared for him.

In the last part of this interview, I felt so excited. He has so many plans for this year: more concerts, guesting and albums with Acht, English songs in a solo album, possible film-making, Zoo Army revival...and I hope everything goes well. I really wish him the best especially about his health.

Here`s the English Translation of the full interview:

Gil Ofarim in an exclusive interview: "I was never really gone!"

MUNICH / sz For two weeks, the second season of "The Voice of Germany" (TVoG) with the last concert of the tour of the eight finalists in the Olympic Hall history. A prominent "talent" of the show was the Munich musician and artist Gil Ofarim. In an interview with Iris Mauch he looks back on his experiences with this TV format, but especially ahead of planned performances, concerts and a lot of interesting projects.
SZ: It is the TVoG Tour has come to an end - how was it for you?
Ofarim: I had not even expected to participate at all - I moved shortly after for Freaky T., who had to cancel for health reasons. The samples were therefore very briefly - but the show was huge and it was fun. It was a very nice tour, which has also given me the opportunity to say goodbye to the whole. There really are some people who are unfortunately not shown on television, in my opinion, but the most important people such as the Vocal Coach Yvonne Ambree and Naomi van Dooren.
SZ: constantly during the show, was the image of the "teen stars" tried, you were pushed into the corner comeback. Here you have done all these years music - away from the teen image. How much bothers or annoys you mind that such creative phases musical creation are virtually "swept under the rug" and acted as if between the "teen idol Gil" and "TVoG-Gil" was a vacuum?
Ofarim: Of course, it has stressed me somewhere and annoyed, but that's part. It's not my job to change the opinion of someone or to please come hell. I think I may just with my performance - with what I can, and as the person I am - to show what I am doing today.
SZ: How did the collaboration with Xavier Naidoo and his team - you will continue to cooperate in any way or is it completely finished?
Ofarim: The collaboration was easy. Xavier is a very busy man, but has a great team behind him, and the challenge to all talent in the team was: ". Stands the door you always open" How that happens then, you do not know ... It was just a great time.
SZ: Who was responsible for the song selection?
Ofarim: I do not.
SZ: So ... you stood not 100% behind it?
Ofarim: That's not true. I have told me one thing: "When I go to this TV show, then I do it all or nothing." That is, I realized that I can not make any claims - so I'm not too. I did not say yes and amen to everything, and I was one among many and made the best of it.
SZ: How much influence could you take on the songs that you have sung ultimately how they line up, etc.?
Ofarim: Before the Blind Auditions there along with four or five people a kind of pitching ideas. Since there were three proposals for me. We soon found out that would not work. I developed the Gnarls-Barkley song "Crazy" sung in this acoustic version, and that's it.
Although I generally difficult to find covers, because I write my own songs because they inevitably will be compared with the original, actually, every song was a hit. You can see that based on the video, as did I, I think a couple of records in the calls: my "Are you with me" and also the Battle of Eight. In any case - it all was ok - then the song selection can not have been that bad.
SZ: What is the goal you've been following with your participation and have you achieved it?
Ofarim: It was difficult for me to go to a talent show. But I personally had already win the claim.Xavier has asked all of us at the beginning: "Which one of you wants to win," When no one answered, I said that I want to win, because I know that what I do is my life and I for the rest of my wants to make life. Also, I was once elite athletes [Note the editor: Gil wanted to be a professional tennis player] , so winning is inside me. But winning is not necessarily to make the first place.Previously fly out would not have been nice. As it was, it was perfect - it could not have gone better.
I personally wish that I would the size of this platform that the show has commanded me, so have one for my own music. If I could make it, or if the media landscape allows it, I would be very, very happy and thankful. I had a very long time not so much radio airplay and interviews like the last six months. I got a lot of positive response, I was told, "You're great, you're great, that of Germany, which we had not expected, where have you been all these years?" This I can say: "Guys, I was never gone, I was always there - I mostly just stood in front of a closed door "
Before I went to TVoG I wished that the right thing happens. But it happened anyway. If you're a bit of free spirit, a little look outside the box, you know, it happens anyway. And so it happened ...
SZ: What should happen in 2013 anyway?
Ofarim: The right thing! - Private I hope in any case once that remain my friend and I and the dogs are healthy, that we find the home that we desire. The home is for me like the battery for everything else that comes uttered them.
Professionally, I have so much before ... I want to play with my band EIGHT much live. We want as many appointments as possible fulfill so many summer festivals as possible. There is quite a bit in planning - already fixed a gig at Munich's new Club Strøm is on 23 February.
I would like to make an album with EIGHT. We already have some very good strong songs, it now follow more. I'm the second-EIGHT album closer than my solo album.
Yes, I want this year also write a solo album, "Gil Ofarim" and bring out when it works well - it will be in English. Again, for me, that I do not just want to do something in a hurry, even though many - marketing strategists, managers, record company people - say that I do a solo album now put out immediately, should now take the shaft before a nine months the new season comes.
I also ZOO ARMY again revived - we have already had a couple of rehearsals, have found a very good drummer. It's great fun and I think that if this continues, we will continue with ZOO ARMY soon here and there to play a few secret gigs.
SZ: That's a lot! Do not you think that that is a bit too much maybe, because it are very different things yet?
Ofarim: I think that's the attraction. I would not like to eat roast pork every day. That's the great thing about EIGHT, that it is so diverse, and musically. But I want to make lots of other things. If all goes well, I would like to mid even make a film. I have now to a few talks in Berlin. However, there are five other candidates for the male lead, the turn much more in Germany and many more prices than I have cleared.
I'm just artists - that's what I do. I could probably do other things, but that would not satisfy me. On the TVoG tour, I realized that I could not show in the show so really what I'm doing what I'm made. I believe that when you see me live on stage, you know, who am I and why am I doing this and why I should stay here. It all comes at the right time.

The next opportunity to Gil Ofarim and his band to see live EIGHT:
Saturday 23, February 2013 in Strøm
Lindwurmstrasse 88, 80337 Munich
Inlet: 20 Clock / Clock beginning 21

A Series of Interview with Gil in The Voice

1. Gil Ofarim: "I think marriage obsolete!"

In the battles of "The Voice of Germany" was Gil Ofarim another success: He beat out its competitors Cristiano We once asked what inspires him and where he gets the power Read here Gils role girlfriend.. Verena plays!
Gil Ofarim for "The Voice of Germany" is the very great chance to return to the world stage. In the third battle show, he raised himself fought one step closer to that dream - Cristiano was knocked gil In the interview, as it can withstand the pressure of the show and how he helps his girlfriend Verena.
How does it feel when you have to sing with someone with whom one has previously made friends?
Gil Ofarim: It's bad! You meet a stranger and since then has put together something great on their feet. In the few days that we have time for that, you learn also the people behind the facade and discovered parallels. But the day of the battle is approaching. The TV did not come across that way, but we had a very friendly Battle. Cristiano is a great guy!
You still in touch and you can maybe help him now somehow?
If it continues, I would help him definitely like. I think he needs to but first find yourself, to find out what he wants to do. We understand, however, well, I've only written a text message to him yesterday.
There's behind the scenes, so no competition from 'The Voice'?
course, it is more interesting for the viewer, the same place as the battle that there is a struggle. But that is here not from actually. People are all very friendly with each other. But not wrong, all are honest.'s elbow is not here. You would think we would be delighted if the other person has a problem. But on the contrary, we will push each other.
Who is your strongest competitor in the team?Everyone! But I 'see the not so tight. If I were a boxer, I would say I have competitors. But I sing here. we sing here. I try to concentrate on me and me to have a great time.
What are you doing so after the shows?
Since everyone actually is with his family. All are under considerable power, and then to the shows family and friends are there, you spend time with those already. Celebrated or so I have not.Tomorrow night we get down in the hotel but a small gig with us, there's a wing.
Xavier told by your Battle that you could have with your voice a worldwide career, because if one takes out everything. How do you deal with such a great compliment?
sets a clear under the pressure. I can not really put into words. I was very pleased.
How does your girlfriend Verena you going to deal with this pressure? She's my partner. She pushes me when I need a push, it slows me if I need to be curbed. Somehow it's just my baby.
Is there perhaps soon to a wedding?
We've only been together 1.5 years. We love each other and we can certainly imagine a future together. We both love children, both have the dream, at some point with some tweaking a little house in the suburbs when we have the chance. A farm might be better than my dream. But marriage and I find obsolete. I think this tells us nothing about how much you love yourself. My brother got married, and he says that now everything is much closer. But I love my girlfriend and she loves me - unconditionally. And that is the only true love, if you ask me. Whether married or not, what does that matter.

2.Gil Ofarim: From teen idol to "The Voice" Candidates

15 years ago, Gil Ofarim was a teen idol, now the 30-year-old now joins "The Voice of Germany" on We talked about the Munich burst dreams of the past and dreams for tonight -. When deciding whether it Gil is on a comeback.

Would you recognize him? Think about 15 years back. Yes, this is Gil Ofarim, the young man from the BRAVO love story, the time was very fast for teen idol. With the single "Round 'n' Round (It Goes)" the long-haired Munich landed then a hit and had a beat thousand girls heart. Now appears the 30-year-old on to "The Voice of Germany" and we do have a few questions caught. In an exclusive interview, Gil Ofarim, then why was nothing out of the great career and what he is from "The Voice" hoped.
Why did you go to "The Voice" and not to another show?Gil Ofarim: Because I'm not really at anything to apply, and certainly not at a talent show as "The Voice" last year went to the start, I thought.: "Who needs yet a casting show? "And then I saw the first episode and was disabused. Mir fell down the jaw. Since I have realized that it is not about a cliché or a constructed image. time to go . the voice, the music and the art I thought to myself: "Yes, cool thing!"
Exactly your size?
Finally one horny format. Finally you can combine music and television. Normally go together, because that's often the case, unfortunately, that most people go to the toilet, when the music is playing. All other shipments shit from the quotas, "The Voice", but it works -. And finally, I'm glad you're getting honest criticism, reduced only to the voice..
Did you have an advantage as a celebrity?
No, I did not get any special treatment. That's important to me that people know that. When you come in there, you really did it. Each artist must precede the "Blind Auditions" namely overcome three other stations without cameras. It's a shit if you were previously successful.
Do you know any earlier by the coaches from?
With my band EIGHT I had the honor to be the opening act of Reamonn, over ten years ago I played in the interlude of Nena in Mannheim and I'm even on the same bill as the Sons of Mannheim occurred. But I know of no good that so that I would say "my buddy."
Do you have a desire to coach?Nope, if someone turns to me, I will decide at the moment. The way it feels right then. I would hope that anyone at all turns.
Are you a fan of any of the coaches?
I'm a fan of any of the coaches. No, seriously. It reduces people always what they seem to embody. But I think everyone has done something and no one is sitting there for nothing. All go their way tough and work hard for it. That impresses me personally.
What do you do when no one turns?then I'm not as insane, because that brings me nothing personally. Everyone knows what I did before, when I was 14 or 15 years old. Eventually I was so carried. I would hope that the people through the show, or what ever may come next, expand their horizon a bit and may be thinking. "Ah, okay, now grown up" and that they the new Gil with open ears listen.
So you want to save the image of the teen idol and be taken seriously?
It sounds now like I would not be taken seriously. That's the point I did not. I just want to introduce myself, so that I can say: "Hey guys, I am today."
Can you explain why your success is then abated?
I can only say one thing: I was traveling 14 to 20 as a teen star, and I think that's always been too long. The painful enough, I unfortunately had to learn too. But I'm grateful for any advice. At 20, I was just totally alone through and incomprehensible. Since I realized that I missed the best teenage years. And then I did not want. I have run out the record deal and nothing done. I've just enjoyed doing nothing.
You were lonely?
If you are six years on tour and really are not traveling with their peers, except for the few people that play in your band, you're already lonely. I have not played spin the bottle or something. I learned other things and that was huge. But I think the healthy balance is right. But I just did not.
Do you do that now, so especially for yourself?
Yes, I want to prove to myself something too. I really want to know whether it matters if one turns around. May even be that no one turns around, and then I go home.
Are you sad then?
I'll know if it should be so. But I think most of all you learn from criticism. I'm sure that I would learn something from it, and the coaches would tell me what it was. I suppose so, and go with me. When I see that it is true, I das. change
There's no alternative plan?
Nah, I'm just a musician. I love that it's not like I could do anything else, but that's what I am. It fills me, this is my destiny, my way. I came, and I want to stay.
